Executor

My Journey

Discarded Doctrine

Having unlocked SLKR in April 2023, I decided to work on Executor, Jedi Knight Revan, General Skywalker and Jabba the Hut (the latter requiring Jedi Knight Luke Skywalker, which I didn’t have), all at the same time. I now have JKL and JKR, so the logical next step was for me to focus on Executor.

As of this writing, I’m fairly confident that I’ll get my units ready for the next Discarded Doctrine event happening on the 15th of December 2023 (in 8 days). All I need are 3 IG-2000 shards and upgrading my IG-88 from R3 to R5.

As with most farms, one of the most important aspects of the strategy is to determine your critical path or bottlenecks (borrowing terms from project management and the Theory of Constraints). I discovered fairly quickly that the 14 prerequisites listed for the Discarded Doctrine event, by themselves sufficiently challenging, were not enough to unlock Executor! Somewhat hidden is the need to have IG-2000 at 7 stars to fully unlock this Imperial vessel and not 4 as listed in the prereqs. Starting from zero, this means 7 months of farming with no refreshes or 3.5 months with 1 refresh per day – or slightly shorter if you’re lucky enough to get double drop events during this period!

Another key takeaway for me is to not get overzealous and do too many things at once. If I could do it all over again, I would dedicate my farms to Executor and only allocate leftover energy to side projects. I’m constantly reminded by the fact that fleets give you easy crystals daily. Thanks to SLKR’s Finalizer requirement, I’ve been in the Top 20 for over 6 months now, yielding 100 extra crystals on most days, and occasionally 200 when I do break into the Top 10. My best fleet rank to-date is 8th and I would highly recommend developing your fleet if you’ve not already done so. Two of the best players in my fleet shard only have GPs between 2.5M and 3.7M and they are raking in 350-400 surplus crystals every single day!

For those of you who have done it, what’s your experience and was your strategy any different? Did you have any other observations? And for those who are on their own Executor journey, let me know if this is useful and/or if there’s anything specific I’ve not covered you’d want to know about.

May the force be with you!
